Lunch break Botox

Lunch break Botox

I really thought I’d seen it all when it comes to the lengths us girls will go to in order to stay looking good. That was until I was out buying my sandwich the other lunchtime and noticed that the dental surgery on the High Street was advertising “Lunch Break Botox”. Not exactly an appetising snack, I thought to myself, then realised they were suggesting that we can pop in for a couple of quick jabs and be back at our desk looking years younger before the boss even notices we’re gone.
OK, Botox isn’t liposuction, but it is still quite a serious procedure to undergo and treating it as something that’s on a par with having a quick facial or manicure is pretty irresponsible. And this was a dental surgery where at least you could be certain the person administering the injection was going to have some medical training! I’ve seen similar adverts at beauty parlours where I suspect most of the staff didn’t even pass GCSE Biology, let alone attend medical school…
Let’s not forget that Botox is essentially a poison, albeit a poison that has been made safe enough to inject into the human body. That doesn’t mean you can go around injecting customers willy-nilly. Many people suffer allergic or adverse reactions to the substance – I don’t even want to imagine the consequences if this happened in a beauty parlour, where the resident first aider probably went on a two-hour course five years ago! If you must have Botox or dermal fillers pumped into your skin, then please make sure that your practitioner is properly trained and that they have the experience to deal with any potential side effects. Otherwise your quick “Lunch Break Botox” could end up costing you a lot more in time and money than you imagined!
